Charity Golf Day 2009, by Michael Fiore

This was the second year for the Golf Day and yet again we were blessed with a good turn out and excellent weather. Sand Martins Golf Course was in immaculate condition and I think all the players appreciated how well the course played.

48 players took part in the event this year and the team competition was won by the Titans with a quite astonishing team score of 103. Longest drive was won by John Pope and nearest the pin by David Blamires.

The auction went very well with many very generous donations. The final tally for the day was £3,145 which was spilt equally between HemiHelp and the Special Care Baby Unit at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey.

I would like to thank everyone who played and all those who donated for helping make the day a great success and I hope we can repeat the success in May 2010. I would like to especially thank Andy Watts at Contec for sponsoring the day.
