In 2008, ten runners completed the 26.2 mile course for HemiHelp and managed to raise over £27,000 between them! After the race the exhausted runners, and their friends and family, met up near the finish line to rejuvenate with food and drink, and to celebrate their amazing achievement! Here’s what some of this year’s runners had to say - or read more runners' testimonials

"I have lived with right sided hemiplegia all my life. I wanted to see whether there was help for the youngsters with my condition. Found the HemiHelp website thought the charity site and decided to return something back."

"When my son was diagnosed with hemiplegia I couldn't change anything. I couldn't and can't make him better, but by HemiHelp giving me the opportunity to run the London Marathon on their behalf, I have shown my son that the "impossible is achievable" if you put your mind into anything in life. I am sure that he has got the message ... if his ageing father can achieve the completion of a London Marathon then he can do anything!!!"

"The best part of the marathon is the crowds and camaraderie, but more so the wave of emotion just after you’ve picked up your medal at the finishing line and realise you’ve done it!’

"Go for it!!! The pasta party at the end is worth the agony on its own!"
