I am 41 years old and was born with a right sided hemiplegia.
My family have never allowed me to be treated any differently to my siblings and I thank them for that because that has made me the person I am today - very strong and determined to succeed in whatever I set my mind to.
I had many operations in my childhood on my right leg which slightly improved how I walk but am unable to wear high shoes as I still walk over on my foot.
I drive a geared car with no adjustments, am happily married with two gorgeous girls, have a degree and work as a radiographer in the NHS.
I would just like to say that although sometimes things can be a little tough, I have never classed myself as having a disability and have never let my weakness stand in the way of achieving everything that I have wanted to in my life.
