We hope everyone will find the information on this website easy to access. But if you're having any problems, this page contains some guidance on how to customise the site to make it easier to use. Making our site easier to read

We've designed our site to have dark text against a light background, so that it's easy to read. But if you need more contrast, or bigger text, you can change some settings in your browser.

In Internet Explorer 7

Make the text bigger or smaller by opening Internet Explorer 7 and following these steps:

  • Select the Page menu by clicking on the toolbar or pressing ALT+P.
  • Point to Text Size, or select it by pressing X.
  • Select your choice of Largest, Larger, Medium, Smaller, Smallest text sizes.

Change the default colours on the page by opening Internet Explorer 7 and following these steps:

  • Select the Tools menu by clicking on the toolbar or pressing ALT+O, and then click Internet Options or press O.
  • On the General tab, click on the Colors button or press ALT+O.
  • Clear the Use Windows colors check box.
  • Choose the colours you want by clicking on the colour boxes next to Text, Background, Visited and Unvisted.

In Internet Explorer 6

Make the text bigger or smaller by opening Internet Explorer 6 and following these steps:

  • On the Internet Explorer menu bar, click View or press ALT+V.
  • Click Text Size or press X.
  • In the Text Size list, select the text size that you want.

Change the text and background colours by opening Internet Explorer 6 and following these steps:

  • On the Internet Explorer menu bar, click Tools or press ALT+T.
  • Click Internet Options or press O.
  • In Internet Options, select the General tab and click the Colors button or press ALT+O.
  • Clear the Use Windows colors check box.
  • Choose the text and background colours you want by clicking the colour boxes and choosing colours from the palette.

In Firefox

Make the text bigger or smaller by opening Firefox and following these steps:

  • On the Mozilla menu bar, click on the View menu or press ALT+V.
  • Click Text size or press Z.
  • Click Increase or press I to increase text size, or click Decrease or press D to decrease text size.

PDF documents

We offer some documents to download in PDF format. To be able to read PDF documents, you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. You can download Adobe Acrobat Reader for free on the Adobe website. If you have any difficulty reading PDF documents, or you prefer not to download Adobe Acrobat Reader, then all of our leaflets are also available as html web pages. See the Leaflets page for links.
