Secondary Years Family Day

Date: Saturday 12th November 2016
Location: Thornhill Church Centre, Excalibur Drive, Cardiff, CF14 9GA

This event is an informal conference aimed at parents / carers of children with hemiplegia aged 11-15 years and will cover key areas that affect families with children going through the Secondary Years stage. Grandparents or other family members who are involved in your child’s life are also welcome to attend.

Click here to view the draft programme which includes a presentation from Paralympian Athlete, Rhys Jones.

The event is FREE OF CHARGE to attend.

Whilst you are busy at the conference, we invite your children with hemiplegia aged 11-15 years to come and spend the day with Paralympian Gold Medallist Sascha Kindred who has just returned from Rio with yet another Gold Medal to add to his collection! The kids will go off site with Sascha and members of the HemiHelp Team to Cardiff Superbowl for a couple of games of 10 pin bowling, grab a bite to eat for lunch and then Sascha will take them to a local swimming pool for an exclusive swim session (the pool will be closed to the public and specialist swim coaches will be on hand to assist).** Not only that, they can also bring one sibling or friend* Now how many teenagers can say they spent their Saturday with a Paralympian Gold Medallist?!

We are delighted that Liz Johnson, one of Wales' most successful Paralympians, will also be attending the swim session. Liz has recently retired from competitive swimming but as a HemiHelp Patron is looking forward to meeting the children and passing on a tip or two!

Spaces are limited so Click here ASAP to book your place.

* Friends and siblings must also be in same age bracket of 11-15 years. We are sorry but we cannot accommodate any other age group for this activity.

** Children will travel by coach. If your child uses a wheelchair or is unable to negotiate the steps on a single decker coach, please contact Samantha Lee - Events Programme Manager - samantha@hemihelp.org.uk.
