HemiHelp needs your help in planning events for 2011 and 2012
In the lead up to the Olympic (27 July – 12 August) and Paralympic (29 August – 9 September) Games, we would like to hold a series of events across the UK in 2011 – 2012 which have the following values at the heart - respect, excellence, friendship, determination, inspiration and equality. These values are the essence of the 2012 Games which is why we’d like to keep them in mind for our events in 2011 and 2012.
We’d love to hear your say on what shape and form these events should take. What sorts of activities would you like to see more of and where? The events we organise could be sport based; we could hold an activity fun day, like a mini Olympics, but where everyone won a prize for taking part. Or we could hold a series of drama workshops, which work with the values of the Games as a basis for the activities throughout the day.
Some of you may have already been to one of our activity fun days, a music or drama workshop and will know the sorts of things we’re capable of achieving. So what I’d really like to hear is your suggestions on what sort of event you’d like to see and where.
If you have a contact - perhaps you know someone qualified who could lend a hand as an activity leader in a certain skill, or you know someone who owns a sports centre who might be able to give us a preferential rate, or you can think of any other venue or outdoor setting near you which would be ideal to hold an event like a sports day or workshop – please get in touch with further details.
Your view is important to us. After all, HemiHelp’s aim is to support you as best we can. Please tell us about your thoughts and suggestions using the form at the foot of this page.
